ShedShared is a platform that connects people who need space for bulky gear (guests) with people who offer spare space in their homes, mostly basements and garages (hosts). We provide the listing, matching and communication tools — we are not a party to any storage agreement between a guest and a host.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into agreements to use ShedShared, whether as a guest or a host.
A storage arrangement is an agreement made directly between the guest and the host. ShedShared facilitates the introduction and provides guidance such as suggested pricing, access times and test weeks, but each host and guest are responsible for agreeing on the exact terms — what is stored, where, when it can be accessed, and for how long.
Hosts must offer the space as described, honor the access times they published, keep the space dry, secure and reasonably clean, and never live in the same room as the stored items. Hosts are responsible for complying with local rules that apply to storing other people's property in their home.
Guests may only store legal, non-hazardous items. Prohibited items include anything flammable, perishable, dangerous, illegal, or living. Guests must respect the agreed access times, treat the host's home with care, and remove their items by the end of the agreed period.
Prices shown on the platform are typical local averages for guidance; the binding price is the one a guest and host agree on. ShedShared charges a service fee on completed bookings, shown before checkout. Storage fees are paid monthly in advance unless agreed otherwise.
ShedShared provides the platform "as is" and is not responsible for the storage services themselves, including loss of or damage to stored items, unless caused by our own gross negligence or willful misconduct. Guests are encouraged to check whether their household or gear insurance covers off-site storage. Nothing in these terms limits liability where doing so is not permitted by law.
You can stop using ShedShared at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, misuse the platform, or harm other users. Either party to a storage arrangement must give the notice period they agreed on before ending it.
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be announced on the platform before they take effect. Continuing to use ShedShared after a change means you accept the updated terms.
